Principal Industrial Design Consultant
RSiD partnered with RefleXion Medical to spearhead the industrial design, product architecture, ergonomics, prototyping, and branding for their X1 system.
Working closely with both the leadership and the mechanical engineering team, we created designs that is innovative, practical and manufacturable.
Our design introduced a distinctive visual language for the X1 system, setting it apart with unique elements like the “brow” interface. This backlit feature provides a calming effect, visually separating the main housing from the UI and highlighting the RefleXion logo with a glowing cabochon.
The front cover’s stepped surface and printed patterns enhance the visual appeal, while the patient’s bore includes a customizable LED light for a soothing, spa-like experience during treatment.
In branding, we evolved RefleXion’s original logo to better reflect their focus on biology-guided radiotherapy.
By softening the X and incorporating elements of chromosomes and reflection, we created a more iconic and meaningful symbol that aligns with the founder’s vision and reinforces the brand’s identity across all platforms.
